Google recently released a new version of their YouTube API. Now you can integrate a full range of YouTube functionality in your website or rich internet application. This looks like a cool opportunity to build an Adobe AIR desktop application that plays videos in a customized environment. There are already libraries available for Java and PHP.

I already requested a developer key for my little YouTube experiment. So you might read more about this in the near future. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a AS3 library?
